ABOUT US

The Great Florida Cattle Drives and Reunion Rides Organizing Committee is an all-volunteer, non-salaried group of  men and women brought together by our desire to preserve Florida's Cow Culture and its Cow Hunter and Cracker Heritage. Ours is a diverse and all inclusive group of folks from all different backgrounds. We come from every county in the State.  We represent all walks of life. Ranchers, farmers, working cowboys, educators, historians, professionals, blue collar workers, youngsters, retirees, students, land and wildlife managers, law enforcement.

Under the leadership of our Chairman Emeritus, Doyle Conner, Jr., we held our first cattle drive over 20 years ago, The Great Florida Cattle Drive '95. Doyle also chaired cattle drives in 2006, and 2016. In 2017 we had our first Reunion Ride. The Reunion Rides will lead us into our next cattle drive, The Great Florida Cattle Drive of 2021. The 2021 Cattle Drive will be the cornerstone of a year-long celebration of the coming of cattle to Florida in 1521, 500 years ago. Doyle continues to be the driving force along with many committee members who have been participating since the beginning.

Reunion Ride '19 is a great opportunity to share a camp and a trail ride with people with whom you have so much in common, and who will be riding with you in the Great Florida Cattle Drive of 2021.
